Uber Eats pays you Marriott points or Delta miles

Order the way you already do. The points show up on their own.

What you earn
  • Marriott 1 point per $1 on restaurant and grocery orders of $40 or more
  • Marriott 2 points per $1 on $40+ orders delivered to a Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, or Element hotel
  • Delta 1 mile per $1 on those same $40+ orders, if you link Delta instead of Marriott

The catch
  • One order feeds only one program. Hotel points or airline miles, never both. You pick the lane.

Restaurants that quietly pay airline miles

Airlines and hotels run free dining networks. Your usual spot might already be in one.

Linked deal Either-or with Deal 4. One card cannot do both.

What you earn
  • American Delta United Alaska Atmos Southwest JetBlue Up to 5x miles per $1 spent at their partner restaurants
  • Hilton Up to 8x hotel points on the same idea
  • Marriott 4x through Eat Around Town, or 6x with Marriott Silver status or higher
Turn it on
  • Search "[airline name] dining", sign up free, register the card you already carry, then just eat out.
  • Opt into their emails and keep eating out. The top tier needs the email opt-in plus roughly 11 qualifying meals a year.
The catch
  • One network per card. Choose your airline or hotel once.
  • Bilt Bilt dining counts as one of them. See Deal 4, they are either-or.

Bilt dining, and you do not need a Bilt card

The one nobody believes. No credit card application involved.

The catch
  • Interlocked with Deal 3. Bilt dining and the airline and hotel dining networks run on the same system, so a card sits in one or the other. The minute I joined United's dining program, Bilt emailed me that my card's dining earning had stopped.
  • Discover cards cannot be linked

Free Marriott status from your Uber One membership

Hotel elite status out of a food delivery subscription.

What you earn
  • Marriott Silver Elite status, free which is 10% bonus points on stays plus priority late checkout
Turn it on
  • Uber One Hold the annual plan with your Marriott account linked, on the same Partner Rewards screen as Deal 1.
The catch
  • Uber One The monthly plan does not count. It has to be annual.

United pays you miles for groceries

One-time bonuses rather than ongoing earning, but they are free miles for groceries you were buying anyway.

  • United Up to 5,000 miles if you are new to Instacart: four orders of $35+ within eight weeks
  • United 5,000 miles for joining annual Instacart+ and keeping it 30 days or longer

The catch
  • These are one-time bonuses. Regular orders after that do not keep earning miles.

Lyft pays you too, and you pick one of four programs

Same idea as Uber, except Lyft hands you a menu. Only one can be switched on at a time.

  • Alaska Atmos 2 points per $1 on everyday rides, and 3 per $1 on airport rides and the bigger cars
  • Alaska Atmos 1 elite status point per $1 as well, so your rides build airline status and not just a points balance. Nothing else on this page does that.
  • United 4 miles per $1 on airport rides you schedule ahead, 3 per $1 on the bigger cars and on-demand airport rides, 1 per $1 on standard rides
  • Bilt 2 points per $1 with a free account and any payment method, and Bilt transfers 1:1 to around 17 airlines and 6 hotel programs including Hyatt
  • Hilton 3 points per $1 on standard rides
Turn it on
  • Alaska Atmos Link at alaskalyft.com. A free Lyft Business profile doubles the rate.

  • Bilt Free Bilt account, then link it in either app. The phone number has to match on both.
The catch
  • One program at a time. Pick the one you would actually redeem, not the one with the biggest number.
  • Base fare only. Wait and Save and Shared rides generally do not earn.
  • Hilton Capped at $10,000 of Lyft spend a year, and cashing Honors points back into Lyft credit is terrible value. Earn them, do not redeem them there.
  • Bilt No Canada rides, and not available through Lyft Business

Your Uber link pays on rides, not just food

Same link you made in Deal 1. The ride rates are narrower than people expect, and one of them is zero.

What you earn
  • Marriott 3 points per $1 on UberXL, Comfort, Black and Black SUV, including Reserve bookings of those
  • Marriott 2 points per $1 on UberX Reserve
  • Delta 3 miles per $1 on Uber Reserve, and 2 per $1 on UberXL, Comfort, Black and Black SUV
  • Delta 1 mile per $1 on UberX, but only on trips to or from an airport
Turn it on
  • Nothing new to do. It is the same Partner Rewards link from Deal 1.
The catch
  • Standard UberX earns nothing at all. Not with Marriott, and not with Delta unless the trip touches an airport.
  • Delta These are bonus miles that do not count toward Medallion status. Lyft rides on Atmos do build status, which is the one real difference between the two apps.

  • Marriott Starbucks 1,000 points buys 100 Stars, which is roughly $8.50 of hotel points for pocket change at the register

The questions people actually ask

Can you really earn points on Uber Eats orders?
Yes. Link a Marriott Bonvoy or Delta SkyMiles account inside the Uber app under Account, then Partner Rewards. Restaurant and grocery orders of $40 or more earn 1 Marriott point per dollar, or 1 Delta mile per dollar if you link Delta instead. Orders of $40 or more delivered to a Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, or Element earn 2 Marriott points per dollar. Tips, taxes, and fees do not earn, and it is United States only.
Can one Uber Eats order earn both hotel points and airline miles?
No. Uber credits one linked loyalty program per order, so you choose either Marriott points or Delta miles rather than collecting both. Pick the one you actually redeem.
Does Starbucks earn Delta SkyMiles?
From August 5, 2026, linked members earn 1 Delta mile per dollar at United States Starbucks stores, and Double Stars on days they fly Delta. Link the accounts at deltastarbucks.com. Gift cards, alcohol, taxes and tips do not earn, and from October 5, 2026 you need a Delta flight in your prior 12 months to keep earning.
What is a dining rewards program and is it actually free?
Airlines and hotels run dining networks where you register a card you already carry and earn extra miles or points when you eat at partner restaurants. They are free to join. Reaching the top tier takes two things, opting into their emails and roughly 11 qualifying meals a year, and it is worth up to 5x miles per dollar with airlines or up to 8x points with Hilton. Marriott's Eat Around Town pays 4x, or 6x if you hold Marriott Silver status or higher.
Can I be in Bilt dining and an airline dining program at the same time?
Not with the same card. Bilt Neighborhood Dining and the airline and hotel dining networks run on the same underlying system, so a card belongs to one of them at a time. Joining United's dining program ended the Bilt dining link on my card within minutes.
Should I convert Marriott points into Starbucks Stars?
No. The transfer is real, at 1,000 Marriott points for 100 Stars, but 1,000 Bonvoy points are worth roughly $8.50 by common valuations and 100 Stars is pocket change at the register. It is on this list so you recognise it as a trap.
Do Lyft rides earn airline miles or hotel points?
Yes, and Lyft lets you choose the program. You can link United MileagePlus, Hilton Honors, Alaska's Atmos Rewards, or Bilt Rewards, but only one can be active at a time. Atmos is the unusual one, because it awards elite status points on top of redeemable points, so rides build airline status rather than only a balance. United pays the highest multiplier at 4 miles per dollar on airport rides you schedule in advance. Bilt needs no credit card and its points transfer 1:1 to around 17 airlines and 6 hotel programs.
Does Uber pay points on rides too, or only on Uber Eats?
Both, from the same account link, but the ride rates are narrower than people expect. Marriott pays 3 points per dollar on UberXL, Comfort, Black and Black SUV, and 2 per dollar on UberX Reserve. Delta pays 3 miles per dollar on Uber Reserve and 2 per dollar on the bigger cars, but only 1 mile per dollar on UberX and only for trips to or from an airport. Standard UberX earns nothing at all.
Do DoorDash or restaurant apps earn airline miles?
No. Neither DoorDash nor Grubhub offers a United States airline or hotel account link, and points inside chain apps like Chipotle, McDonald's, Dunkin' and Domino's stay in those apps and never convert to miles.
